With an indefinite lockdown in front of us, it’s time for streaming services to come to the rescue! Trying to figure out what to fill your evenings with? Look no further 📺

We’ve compiled a list of some of the top must-watch TV shows in 2021. Some of them are ready to watch right after you’ve finished reading this blog, others you’ll have to wait a little while... So, get into your very best loungewear and let the binge watching begin...

Bridgerton

Available on: Netflix

Release date: Available now

Over the Christmas break, Bridgerton quickly became one of Netflix's most watched television series. It’s familiar format, impeccable production and incredibly likeable cast makes Bridgerton a period dramedy with off-the-charts binge-ability. If you gave Bridgerton a miss at the end of 2020, make sure to add it to your 2021 watchlist.

WandaVision

Available on: Disney+

Release date: Available now

After a lengthy break, the Marvel cinematic universe returns: this time in the form of surrealist TV comedy/drama, WandaVision. Starring Elizabeth Olson as ‘Wanda Maximoff’ and Paul Bettany as ‘Vision’, WandaVision borrows from eras of television-gone-by and is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated TV shows of 2021. For eagle eyed fans of the MCU, expect easter eggs galore and surprising cameos of fan favourite characters.

P.S. If you successfully deduce who the mysterious Lady Whistledown is before the final episode, don’t tell anyone!

Cobra Kai Season 3

Available on: Netflix

Release date: Available now

Based on the hit Karate Kid franchise from the 1980s, Cobra Kai is set in the modern day and continues the adventures of Daniel and Johnny and their infamous rivalry. Originally broadcast on YouTube Premium, the first two seasons are now on Netflix, and Season 3 has recently dropped. Indulge in some 80s nostalgia, practice your crane stance and binge the lot.

Firefly Lane

Available on: Netflix

Release date: February 3rd, 2021

Touted to be one of Netflix’s runaway hits of 2021, Firefly Lane’s ten-episode arc takes place over several decades. Tully and Kate have their friendship tested through relationships, break-ups and the inevitable heartbreak that comes with growing up. Starring Katherine Heigl and Scrubs alumni, Sarah Chalke, this production of the much-loved book is bound to be a certified hit.

Don’t Look Up

Available on: Netflix

Release date: Coming soon

Although no release date beyond 2021 has been announced, Don’t Look Up is guaranteed to be a sure fire hit on release. This Netflix original movie features an ensemble cast led by academy award winners Leonard DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, as they try to warn the world of an asteroid on a collision course with planet earth. I guess that’s one way to end Covid-19. 🤷

Foundation

Available on: Apple TV

Release date: Coming soon

Apple TV launched to much intrigue... but is yet to have a must-watch TV show that has brought the masses to subscribe. Now, Apple have pinned their hopes on a high budget Sci-Fi series based on Isaac Asimov’s trilogy of books. Set over the course of thousands of years, Foundation follows a band of exiles determined to rid their galaxy of an evil empire (sound familiar?).

Starring Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Crown, Mad Men) & Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy, Halt and Catch Fire, Pushing Daisies), viewers can expect intergalactic warfare and high jinks ideal for fans of the Sci-Fi genre.

Love is Blind, Season 2

Available on: Netflix

Release date: Coming soon

Love is Blind returns for a second season after becoming on the most talked about TV shows in 2020. If you've managed to miss out on Love is Blind, the concept is very simple (if not a little bit weird).

Singletons meet up with a wall dividing them and measure their compatibility, before deciding whether or not to get married without ever seeing one another. Season 1 was full of blockbuster moments in this psychology experiment/dating show, and with such a bizarre premise you should expect the same from Season 2.

Stranger Things, Season 4

Available on: Netflix

Release date: Coming soon

Perhaps the most binge-worthy cultural event of the year, Stranger Things Season 4 is set to land on Netflix in 2021. Fans of the Sci-Fi series have now been waiting for two years for the conclusion of the smash hit Netflix original, and a return to Hawkins, Indiana.

Little is known about the fourth season of the show, but Netflix did drop this teaser last year. Plus, any adventure with Eleven, Steve Harrington & Dustin Henderson is one we want a part of.
