Share your expertise about student life in your city – here’s everything you need to know about our award-winning Content Ambassador programme.
As the UK’s leading student accommodation platform, at UniHomes we’re all about making students’ lives easier and helping them enjoy their time at uni – whether that’s by making the house-hunting process easier, or by saving you time with our all-inclusive bills packages.
But beyond that, we want to help students make the most of life in their uni city or town – and that’s where you come in. We’re looking for current students who can shine a light on what it’s really like to be a student at your uni – and recommend the must-sees, must-dos and most-definitely-do-nots to the next crop of freshers.
You’ll be joining an award-winning programme, recognised at the 2025 UK Search Awards for marketing in the property and real estate industry.
By writing for our blog, you’ll gain valuable paid writing experience working with a nationally-recognised brand, as well as an understanding of how to write content that drives traffic and find the topics people are searching for.
Being a UniHomes Content Ambassador is a great way to earn some extra cash while studying, and sharpen your skills ahead of job-hunting.
Here’s how it works:
Get a brief
Each month, you’ll be given a topic about student life in your city (and the chance to propose your own)
Get writing
You’ll write the article and we’ll publish it on the UniHomes blog
Get paid!
Earn some extra cash from your writing skills
Build your portfolio
There will also be the chance to contribute additional posts and earn more cash
Our Content Ambassadors (CAs) are current uni students passionate about both writing and their local community.
As a CA you’ll be using this enthusiasm to write engaging, informative content for the UniHomes blog, helping fellow students make the most of their time at uni.
You’ll use insider knowledge of your uni town to create city-specific blog posts about local amenities and events.
The aim is to attract more students to the UniHomes brand, so your writing style should be informal, chatty and capable of drawing a crowd.
You’ll be writing expert content about student life in your city, helping new arrivals and peers alike to make the most of their uni experience.
The topics will vary each month, from the best student places for a night out in your city to where to get the best pre-study coffees… the list is endless! See the posts written by current Content Ambassadors below for examples.
Here at UniHomes we collaborate with partner letting agents all over the country to bring you a collection of the nation’s very best student accommodation in over 50 UK cities and towns – and all with bills already included to make budgeting a breeze! We’re passionate about making student living stress-free and helping students have the best uni possible experience – and that’s where you come in.
For more info about what we do, check out this blog post.
Simply fill in our Google Form via the button below with your personal details and answer our questions about your uni course and motivation for applying.
We get a lot of applications, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t hear back immediately. If we love your application and you’re based in a city that we have a strong presence in, we’ll follow up to ask you to provide a writing sample on a topic of our choosing.
From there, if your writing style is a good match for the programme, we’ll invite you to an onboarding session to meet the team and find out more about how it works. It’s that easy!
There are loads of benefits to being a Content Ambassador, including:
We’ve had brilliant feedback from current CAs – see the testimonials below to read what our writers get out of being in the programme.
It’s only fair that you get rewarded for your time and effort, so you’ll be paid for each piece that you write. We’ll run through standard amounts during onboarding.
Each task we set you shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to write – we know you’re super busy with uni so we don’t want to take too much of your time.
While we may offer additional tasks some months, these are always optional. And if you need to skip a month sometimes, that’s OK – just let us know in plenty of time.
Any student at a UK uni who’s passionate about writing informative pieces for like-minded audiences can be a Content Ambassador.
Ideally, you’ll already have experience writing pieces for public platforms like your student newspaper, but don’t worry if you don’t – what matters most is that you’re a driven writer with an engaging voice that’s capable of drawing a crowd.
