Life on Campus

The University of the West of England is based around 30 minutes away from Bristol's city centre by public transport. Frenchay Campus is UWE’s main campus, located just four miles north of the city centre, and 15 minutes away by Metrobus. This is where the Student's Union is based, and where most students study. Many choose student accommodation in Bristol's Filton area, which is right next door.

UWE's City Campus is the creative and cultural industries campus, which is based across four locations around Bristol’s city centre. Glenside Campus sits in Fishponds, a popular student area with great transport links into the city. Student accommodation near UWE’s Glenside Campus is sought after by those studying nearby, due to the local restaurants, cafes and bars. Gloucester Campus and Hartpury University Campus are much further afield towards the north of Bristol.

The main areas for student accommodation at UWE are mostly dotted around Bishopston and Filton. These are the most sought-after areas and have all the student living essentials. Pubs, shops, takeaways, restaurants and great public transport links can be found nearby. However, as the city is so well connected, living further afield won't go amiss - Horfield and Redland are excellent options.
