Cardiff Metropolitan University Accommodation

About Cardiff Metropolitan University

Located in a thriving and lively city, Cardiff Metropolitan University is jam-packed with opportunities for students. Proud of its multicultural routes, over 11,000 students flock to the uni every single year - with hundreds of countries represented on campus. CMU was recently awarded Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework, showing its commitment to high-quality learning. As an added bonus, over 96% of graduates find employment or further study within six months of graduating.

Cardiff Metropolitan's Llandaff Campus is found just on the outskirts of the city centre. A short bus journey will get you to the neighbouring districts of Cathays and Heath which are always growing in popularity among students.

Cyncoed Campus is home to education and sport-related degrees, and these students are based near the district of Roath. This lively neighbourhood is packed with useful student amenities, and Roath Park is always worth exploring during the summer months.

Students studying here can take advantage of everything that Cardiff has to offer and live student life to the full.

Cardiff Met Accommodation

Cardiff Metropolitan university is located just out of the city centre so the student housing and location you choose will depend on whether you prefer the hustle and bustle of the city centre or if you’d rather be close to the campus that’s surrounded by parkland. You might have been used to living near campus while you were in university halls of residence and want to carry this on into your second and third years too. Students living in the centre will have slightly further to go to get into lectures.

On the other hand, Canton is slightly more residential and is the perfect place to go if you want a larger student home to share with a group of friends. If you’re a sports lover, Canton is the home of Cardiff City Stadium and Cardiff International Sports Campus and there’s nothing quite like match day in the area.

Areas such as Cardiff Bay are a little further away from campus but the transport links are excellent if you don’t mind commuting out of the city to get to your lectures. This area is located close to the centre and all the cultural attractions that Cardiff has to offer and a buzzing nightlife too.

Life on Campus

CMU has invested heavily into its facilities in recent years, benefiting students across the board. The recent £70 million faculty upgrades have seen an abundance of speciality equipment and research zones implemented. Additionally, the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences now has on-site sporting facilities, a shop and a coffee bar for students to enjoy.

Cardiff Metropolitan University's Students' Union provides students with the chance to get involved with over 130 different clubs and societies. Whether you're a big sports lover or you prefer testing out the local drinking holes, the SU has something for everyone. As part of the UMAX initiative, the SU also gives students the opportunity to attend a range of free workshops delivered by industry consultants, with the aim to set students up as well as possible for life after graduation.
