Student Accommodation at the University for the Creative Arts

Founded in 2005, the University for the Creative Arts in Surrey has already established itself as a specialist provider of creative degree courses in the short time since it opened. In 2019, it was voted Modern University of the Year by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, and it’s easy to see why.

The unique approach on offer at the University for the Creative Arts sees collaboration between departments and courses, with illustrators studying alongside architects and budding filmmakers taking inspiration from students of fine art. With campuses centrally located in in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Rochester, Hampton Court and Maidstone, there's plenty to explore. Each campus is a hub of creativity powered by a community of passionate artists – from the budding students and the dedicated teaching staff through to the UCA’s Students' Union, who are always on hand to provide guidance and support to anyone in need.

When it comes to finding student accommodation at the University of the Creative Arts, you’ll be spoilt for choice. With the main university building in Farnham, you might find this market town is the perfect place to settle down while you study.

Life on Campus

Spread across four locations, the University for the Creative Arts in Surrey is hailed by students, staff and alumni alike as a world-class institution for creativity. As the second largest provider of creative education in Europe, UCA has been providing students from all over the world with a springboard to break into the creative industries for over 160 years. During this time, UCA has helped to nurture the talent of many notable alumni including over a dozen Oscar winners!

With over 2,000 students, Farnham is the biggest of the UCA campuses and offers a warm and welcoming feel to new students that helps them to settle in. If it’s inspiration you need, you’ll find a range of impressive exhibitions from visiting artists, students and graduates at both the James Hockey and Foyer Galleries.

At the Farnham campus, you’ll also find dedicated research centres including the Centre for Sustainable Design and the Crafts Study Centre, a purpose-built museum that students can explore and enjoy to their heart's content.

University is all about making friends, and what better way to meet likeminded people than by getting involved with the Students’ Union? Join a club or society, or even start your own, and find people who share common interests outside of your course.
