The property season does not last long at all in this city. Most students typically start their search and successfully find somewhere to live in November, although there are usually a few stragglers who only begin their hunt for Coventry student accommodation in January and February. It’s best to join the early birds back in November, though, in order to avoid any unnecessary stress and disappointment.

Which areas of Coventry are most popular with students?

Cannon Park, the closest area to the University of Warwick, is definitely the most popular when it comes to student properties in Coventry; in fact, the Office for National Statistics reported that in 2021, over 55% of all residents in Cannon Park were full-time students. This quiet suburb offers a peaceful life but is still near amenities like Cannon Park Shopping Centre and Tesco, and is well-connected to the city centre via the 12X bus.

The city centre itself is also highly in demand with students (with almost 60% of occupants in the city centre in 2021 being full-time students, according to the ONS), mainly because of its proximity to the Coventry University campus. The city centre offers music venues, clubs and bars like HMV Empire, as well as markets and restaurants galore. Like your evenings to be more on the unconventional side? Give the centre’s Boom Battle Bar a go for cocktail-fuelled crazy golf, pool and shuffleboard. They even do axe-throwing, provided you’re safe and sober.

Earlsdon and Bishopsgate Green are also popular choices for student accommodation in Coventry, thanks to their cosy vibes and community feel.

Which house sizes are most in demand with Coventry students?

It looks like living with mates is the way to go in this city, as it’s the 4-, 5- and 3-bedroom student properties in Coventry that get snatched up the quickest. 2- and 6-bedroom houses follow closely behind, meaning that you need to start looking sooner rather than later if you’re after living with a big group here.

It’s those cosy 1-bedroom student flats in Coventry that are admittedly the easiest to snag, though. It seems like independent living isn’t a massively popular choice amongst Coventry students, so if you fancy the idea of having an apartment or studio all to yourself, then you’re in for an easier ride than most, thanks to the lack of competition.

Coventry is arguably the heart of England, not only because of its historical significance but also because of its near-central location. It’s no wonder then that life in Coventry perfectly represents living as we know it in this country – this city is varied and lively, all underpinned by a strong sense of community and pride.

This couldn’t be more evident in the carefully-preserved historical sites dotted all over the town. Check out St Mary’s Guildhall for a glimpse into the medieval past, or head on over to the old ruins of the Cathedral, which was heavily bombed during the Baedeker Blitz by the Germans in WWII. Honestly, history is unavoidable here.

If you’re more of a modernist, then don’t worry; Coventry is still the place for you. With bars and restaurants galore, Coventry is jam-packed full of culture and cuisine. Places like Jinseon Korean BBQ are great for exploring new dishes, whilst Kasbah is an atmospheric nightclub ideal for dancing and drinking the nights away. Student accommodation in Coventry is never far from these kinds of thrills, thanks to the city’s extensive transport links connecting you from A to B.

The University of Warwick churns out stars. Some of Britain’s most well-loved celebrities found themselves in student housing in Coventry whilst they studied at Warwick Uni, including Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones (who not only created and wrote the show, but also played the beloved Nessa), Brett Goldstein (famous for his role as Roy Kent in Ted Lasso), and comedians Stephen Merchant and Frank Skinner. Even Sting enjoyed a term or two at Warwick (although he did admittedly drop out). So, be warned; go to the University of Warwick and you may well emerge as the nation’s newest sweetheart.
