Student Accommodation at the University of Worcester

Sitting in the heart of England’s West Midlands, the University of Worcester continues to attract ambitious students to its high achieving community. Since being granted full university status in 2005, this innovative institution has established a reputation for industry leading research and world-class teaching.

With four campuses stretching across the region, the university plays a key role in creating the vibrant and welcoming community that Worcester is known for. Satisfaction amongst students is high; from the outstanding teaching staff and depth of courses to the range of clubs and societies on offer, it’s easy to see how 85% of Worcester final year students said they were satisfied overall in 2020.

In the last decade, the University of Worcester has undergone considerable change and transformation, more than doubling student numbers and investing in experts to expand into new subjects. Today, it delivers degree programs to nearly 10,000 students and employs over 1,000 faculty staff.

In turn, it has repeatedly received praise and recognition from institutions like The Times, which shortlisted Worcester three times as its Higher Education University of the Year. The university has also been ranked in the top 3 in the UK for Quality Education in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which assesses how universities globally are meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

When it comes to finding accommodation at the University of Worcester, we’ve got a wide range of properties throughout the area. The City Campus is situated right in the centre, while the St Johns Campus is just a short bus ride away and the Severn Campus sits conveniently between the two. In any case, you’ll find student homes across the Worcester to suit your needs.

Where you look depends on the experience you want while studying. In the city centre, our modern apartments and spacious homes place you at the heart of the action. With the City Campus on your doorstep, the Severn Campus a riverside stroll away and St John’s accessible with a quick bus-ride, you’ll never have to wake up at the crack of dawn for a 9am lecture. The same goes for our properties in the area of St Johns, which keep students connected to the happenings on campus.

Arboretum is an equally great choice for students, boasting a host of local amenities to keep your cupboards full and your social life buzzing. Of course, part of what makes Worcester so appealing is the gorgeous green spaces that the region has to offer. If you want to get the best of both city and country, check out our student homes in Dines Green, a quaint suburb situated right by the Laugherne Brook Local Nature Reserve.

Across campus, you’ll notice a multitude of labs dedicated in developing and testing solutions to tackle global warming and improve the health of the planet.

It also means taking advantage of an award-winning, £60-million-pound library that boasts over a quarter of a million books and 12 miles of archive collections. Got an essay deadline that you’ve left a little late? Head over to The Hive, Europe’s first fully integrated university and public library. Along with an impressive library, the City Campus is home to the University's Worcester Business School, The Hive Library, Jenny Lind building and the McClelland Health and Wellbeing Centre.

The largest of all Worcester’s campuses, St John’s is the main base for most courses. Along with halls of residence, you’ll find an impressive sports centre, a commercial standard digital arts centre and a motion performance centre. Of course, we all know there’s more to uni than staying on top of your studies. When a well-deserved break is in order, Worcester delivers.

Check out The Hangar, a social space that hosts everything from karaoke nights to comedy shows and quizzes. Bring your friends for a post-lecture pint or ask the bartender for a Slush Puppy to cool down after a session at the sports centre!
