The Walpole Arms
The Walpole Arms is the tap of local gin distillers, Gyre & Gimble. It serves up a great selection of their latest gins, as well as a bar full of local beer, cider and a menu bursting with fantastic food. It’s a great place to try something new when you first move to the city, as well as a super spot to take your friends and family if they come up (or down) to visit. If you want to know the Norwich pub scene, you need to know The Walpole Arms.

The Wildman
“Interesting name for a pub,” you might think, but once you step inside The Wildman, you’ll soon see how it came to be. Describing itself as ‘a forest-inspired sanctuary,’ this truly is a pub like no other in Norwich, or many other places for that matter. It’s the ideal pub to hunker down for a day of refreshments, while the cocktail club between 4pm and 8pm is a deal not to be missed. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, The Wildman is the place for you.

Mojo’s
Mojo’s is Norwich’s longest running nightclub and offers a packed dance floor ideal for a party. In fact, it offers little else - it’s basically just a long bar with a massive dancing space, but what else do you need for a good time? With a roster of national DJs dropping by to play, regular themed nights, and more fancy dress than you could shake a feather boa at, Mojo’s is a club not to be missed.

Mantra Club
Mantra Club claims to be both Norwich’s biggest student night and the only place to be on a Saturday night. With two floors, a VIP room and even a shisha lounge, it’s a club experience you won’t forget in a hurry. Entry is free between 10pm and 11pm, or £10 if you fancy the VIP experience. Go on, it’s surely worth doing at least once - you’ll look like a right BNOC…
-
The Karma Kafe
Set right bang in the middle of Norwich’s historic streets, The Karma Kafe is a small venue that packs a massive punch. Its three floors play host to the best in Motown classics, funk anthems, soul sensations and house bangers, giving you a night out that ticks all your musical fancies. They proudly claim to be Norwich’s smallest club, which gives the venue a charming atmosphere. If that’s not what you’re looking for on a night out, don’t worry - it’s open until 3am, so you can just have a little boogie at the end of the night and ignore the atmosphere completely.
-
The Waterfront
The Adrian Flux Waterfront, to give it its full name, is a live music venue that’s run and managed by the Union of UEA Students. However, it’s open to anyone, so you can mingle with music fans from across the city and beyond. Its stage has hosted the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Stereophonics, The Prodigy and MGMT in the past, while regular club nights fill its schedule throughout the rest of the year. There are two floors at The Waterfront, and we absolutely insist you experience both.

The LCR
Want a big night out without leaving campus? The LCR has got you covered. This is the UEA’s very own music venue and nightclub, boasting a capacity of up to 2,000 that makes it the biggest club in the city. It pulls in massive acts from the world of music, as well as regular club nights, events, and even bingo. Don’t worry - it’s not the kind of bingo your gran would go to - it’s the kind where you can occasionally dance on chairs and win a hoover. You’ll see. The LCR is a truly iconic venue in Norwich and might be one of the only places where you can make 1,999 new friends in one night.
