It's not clear how Montpelier got its Gallic name, but it does boast a bohemian atmosphere with its colourfully-painted houses and laid-back pubs and cafes. Found to the north of Bristol city centre, near St Pauls and Redland, it also boasts its own small train station, providing easy access to Bristol Temple Meads.
For University of Bristol students, it's about a 20-25 minute commute to campus from Montpelier - whether you're travelling by bus, train or on foot. It's more of a trek for UWE students, as Montpelier's around 40 minutes away from Frenchay by bus.
