Why Spon End is Great for Students
Situated between Chapel Fields, Coundon and Earlsdon on the western side of the city centre, the area of Spon End is popular amongst students of both universities in Coventry. With only a short journey into the city to reach the Coventry University campus and good public transport routes connecting to the University of Warwick, it’s a great place for housemates split between both unis, or for people who want to mingle with other students.
A popular residential area, Spon End comprises mostly of terraces and semis, suitable for three or four students sharing together. As with most student areas in Coventry, enterprising landlords have developed larger student properties too, ranging from six-bedrooms all the way to 10-bedrooms and more.
If apartments are more your thing, Spon End’s location at the edge of the city centre means there are a few modern apartment blocks to choose from too, either studios, 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom. There are also a number of properties which have been specially developed to provide communal apartments too, emulating the halls experience but in your own private space, and with flatmates of your own choosing!
All the essentials for student life are nearby too, with a big Morrisons as well as plenty of smaller express supermarkets and local stores spread across Spon End. Being close to the city centre provides plenty of places to visit for dinner, a night out, or for a cultural experience.
The best bit about living in Spon End though? It’s right next to Ikea! Try not to blow your student loan on meatballs and Swedish Fish though…
