Found to the north of Bristol city centre, Stoke Gifford used to be a separate village before being absorbed into Bristol's outer limits. Despite its rural origins, it's well-connected these days, with plenty of shops and supermarkets and some major companies having offices in the area.
Stoke Gifford is a particularly good housing option for UWE students, with the Frenchay Campus around half an hour away on foot or 20 minutes by bus. It's more of a trek for University of Bristol students, taking around 45 minutes on the bus or by getting the train from Bristol Parkway to Temple Meads and then catching the 72 bus.
Speaking of Parkway, Stoke Gifford is very handily located for Bristol's second train station - it's only eight minutes to walk or four minutes on the bus.
