Call me biased, but Leeds has some of the best student nightlife in the UK. Credit has to be given where credit is due because there really is something for everyone, every day of the week.

If you’re new to Leeds or are just looking to switch up your usual spots, here are some of the best student nights out and places you need to try while living in the city.

Where to go on a night out in Leeds in 2026

Full Fat Thursdays at Headrow House

Want to party on a rooftop in the middle of Leeds? Then Headrow House is the place to be on a Thursday night.

Full Fat Thursdays have become a huge favourite in the student scene, especially once the weather starts getting warmer. The venue itself is spread across multiple floors with different rooms and music styles, so there’s always somewhere that suits your vibe.

The rooftop area is also one of the nicest places in Leeds every day of the week to start your night before heading elsewhere later on.

The Warehouse

A personal favourite of mine during first year, Warehouse is what properly introduced me to the Leeds student club scene.

Mondays are famous for Bobby’s Disco, where you’ll hear everything from ABBA and Mamma Mia soundtracks. Tuesdays bring Dvotion, which is more focused on house, rap and club music.

Wednesday Socials

In Leeds, whether you're part of a society or not, Wednesdays are basically reserved for socials. Depending on whether you go to Leeds Beckett University or the University of Leeds, your Wednesday nights can look slightly different.

For University of Leeds students, Mischief at Warehouse is usually the go-to. Expect throwback anthems, chart music, hip hop, R&B and songs you forgot existed until everyone starts screaming the lyrics.

For Leeds Beckett students, HOME has quickly become one of the biggest social spots in the city. Since opening a few years ago, it’s become a massive part of the Leeds student nightlife scene.

That being said, there are no rules when it comes to Leeds nights out; everyone’s welcome wherever they choose to go, and half the fun is figuring out which spot becomes your personal favourite.

The Otley Run

It would honestly be wrong to talk about Leeds nightlife without mentioning the Otley Run, a true student tradition.

The Otley Run is a famous pub crawl stretching through Headingley and towards the city centre, with students dressing up in themed fancy dress costumes while stopping at pubs along the route. Living in Headingley myself, even popping to the shop on a Saturday becomes entertaining because you’ll see groups dressed as everything from Minions to cowboys walking down the street together.

People travel from all over the UK just to experience the Otley Run, so if you live in Leeds, you absolutely have to try it at least once.

Call Lane

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever had a bad night on Call Lane.

Perfect for bar hopping, Call Lane is full of bars, making it ideal for friendship groups who all want something different from a night out.

You’ll almost always see a huge queue outside Jake’s Bar, one of the most popular bars on the street. The atmosphere around Call Lane gets especially busy on weekends, and since it connects to Boar Lane (another street of busy bars), the whole area feels lively all night long.
