University of East Anglia Accommodation
Norwich's University of East Anglia is regularly listed as one of the UK's top universities, having even managed to rank at number 34 out of 130 on the Complete University Guide's 2027 university league table.
And, as a higher education institute in a famously creative part of the country, it attracts thousands of students each year for subjects like creative writing, with The Guardian listing UEA as the eighth best UK university for creative writing in 2025 – so living in UEA student accommodation means you're almost guaranteed to be surrounded by like-minded, imaginative people.
Student life near UEA accommodation
Situated in the picturesque city of Norwich, the University of East Anglia can be found towards the edge of the city, with views across Norfolk's rolling countryside. UEA has a single campus which is home to its high-quality teaching, research, accommodation and sports facilities, as well as a few Grade II listed buildings. There's also the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, and the uni has a great Students' Union.
The majority of UEA student accommodation is found towards the west of the city centre (due to the campus' location), with sought-after suburbs being North & West Earlham and the Golden Triangle. Both of these areas are vibrant student hubs filled with a large selection of 4- and 5-bed shared houses, and are home to a plethora of local pubs, independent restaurants and unique boutiques.
Be warned, though: Earlham has consistently seen the highest demand for people looking for student accommodation in Norwich on the UniHomes website, as proven by the fact that Earlham is where you'll find Wilberforce Road, the most popular street in all of Norwich for student houses.
We discuss more about this here in our blog post on the UK's most sought-after student streets but, in the meantime, be aware that student accommodation in Earlham goes quickly; it's been our most popular Norwich area for three years in a row for a reason, you know.
It's a similar situation over in the Golden Triangle, too. UniHomes' properties in this part of Norwich average out at around £139 per person per week (as of October 2026), making them some of the cheapest in the city – which has driven up demand for this kind of UEA student housing. We also recommend acting quickly if you're after a property here, to make sure you don't miss out.
Rather go for a flat or private halls? The city centre is the place to look. UEA student housing here is perfect for those who like being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of city living, and these properties mainly consist of 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom flats and apartments in purpose-built blocks.
